How Can I Restore Access to the Web GUI on My FS Switch After Adding a User?

I'm working on an FS S3400-48T4SP switch and encountered a major issue. I initially had two users (admin and another) that worked perfectly for both SSH and the web GUI. However, when I tried to add a new user using the CLI with the command `username xyz password xyz`, it turns out that command doesn't apply to FS switches. Now, I can't access the web GUI at all, and while the CLI still shows the users, there are no passwords associated with them. Every attempt to reset the admin password fails with messages like 'Unknown command' or 'Incomplete command.' I can't reboot or wipe the config because it's a production switch. Does anyone have any tips on how to restore access to the web GUI or recreate a working local-user through the CLI? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I don't see how this is gaslighting at all. Seems more like a classic case of a user diving in without fully grasping the commands. Hope you figure it out!

It's tough when the CLI gives you a curveball like that. It sounds like you've gone off the beaten path with the syntax. I'd suggest booking an outage window as your best bet. FS switches may mimic other vendors' CLI layouts, but they have their own quirks. Good luck!

I think you may be misunderstanding the term 'gaslighting.' It's more about manipulation or psychological pressure rather than a technical mishap. But I get it, this situation feels frustrating!

True, terminology can get muddled in tech circles. But I think a lot of us can relate to feeling thrown off by unexpected command behavior!

Yeah, it’s become a buzzword lately, but let's focus on the issue at hand.

Definitely a bummer! First rule: RTFM. Always test any new admin accounts before disabling the default ones. You can find the configuration guide here: https://img-en.fs.com/file/user_manual/s5850-and-s8050-series-switches-configuration-guide.pdf. That might help you navigate this issue better next time!
