Hey everyone! My PC is getting pretty old, and my budget is a tight €200. I'm looking to build a system that can run Baldur's Gate 3 without a hitch. Below is my current plan, although it's about €45 over my budget, so I might have to buy some parts over time. I already have a case and a 650W power supply to work with. Here's what I've got so far:
| Component | Model | Source | Price |
|-----------------|-----------------------------------------|-------------------|---------|
| Motherboard | ASUS PRIME B450M-K II | Amazon (new) | €63.11 |
| Processor (CPU) | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | AliExpress (new) | €50.00 |
| RAM | Lexar 8GB DDR4 3200 MHz UDIMM | Amazon (new) | €19.00 |
| SSD | Kingston NV3 NVMe PCIe 4.0 500GB M.2 | Amazon (new) | €43.00 |
| Graphics Card | Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5 | Leboncoin (used) | €70.00 |
I'd love any suggestions or alternatives! Just for context, here's a screenshot of what I'm currently working with and some issues I face: https://imgur.com/a/5HSbjxs.

I suggest checking the secondhand market for your motherboard, CPU, and RAM. You might find an Intel i5 8400 around €35 and a B360 MSI board for about €40. An RX 580 can be found for around €50, which keeps you within budget. Also, don't be shy about haggling; every little bit helps!
If you really need to save money, have you considered using GeForce Now for gaming? It could be a budget-friendly option if you can’t build a powerful rig right now.
Just a heads up, the NV3 SSD uses QLC flash, which isn't as durable and gets slower over time. You might want to consider getting a better SSD with TLC flash instead, like the WD Blue SN5000, which is reasonably priced.
Thanks for the advice! I didn't realize that. I’ll check out the WD drives.
Your build looks good, but I'd suggest aiming for 16GB of RAM instead of 8GB for better performance. Have you checked the Steam page for Baldur's Gate 3 for recommended specs?
Yeah, I think 8GB will do for now. I might be able to get another 8GB later if I can swing it.
Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely look into secondhand options.
