Hey everyone! I'm curious if anyone has experience with Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS) for backing up Hyper-V virtual machines. I've been struggling to fully restore a virtual machine; I can only seem to get the VHDX file, which means I have to manually create a new VM from it. Is there something I'm missing in the process? Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, MABS is a bit of a mess in my opinion. Some folks find it works fine, but others just end up frustrated, especially when it comes to full VM restores. The interface can be tricky, and various bugs pop up that make simple tasks complicated. I'd suggest looking for guides or tutorials that specifically cover restoring VMs with MABS.
I totally get where you're coming from. My work has us using MABS since it's the only option we have without shelling out a ton. It can be a hassle, but once you get used to the quirks, you can kind of manage it. Just be prepared for constant troubleshooting.
I've started feeling the same way. And just when I thought I had it figured out, I realized I had to adjust some folder structures for the restoration process. Better than nothing, I guess!
Yeah, I've had my fair share of headaches with it too. I found that the restore process often requires navigating folders the right way to get it to work. Definitely not the most user-friendly experience!
