Help! My PC Won’t Wake Up or Power On—What Should I Try Next?

Hey everyone! I hope you can help me out. I've got a B450 A-Pro Max motherboard paired with a 6800XT graphics card, a 5800x3d CPU, a 750W Rmx power supply, and 32GB of Kingston Renegade RAM. Everything was running smoothly this morning, but when I returned from running an errand, my computer was in sleep mode and unresponsive to the keyboard and mouse. This isn't the first time it's happened, but I've usually managed to resolve it with a forced restart.

This time, I tried holding the power button to force it down, but nothing happened. I turned off the PSU switch, waited a bit, and turned it back on, yet the computer wouldn't boot at all—no lights, no fans. I left it unplugged for about 15-20 minutes, disconnected all components except for the power supply cable, pressed the power button, and saw a brief flicker of lights and fans before it died again.

I opened the case, and everything looked normal, so I even tried manually pressing the power and reset buttons, but still nothing. My motherboard and case are my oldest components, while the CPU, PSU, GPU, and RAM are relatively new (a couple of years old). What steps should I take next? Any advice would be appreciated!

First things first, have you tried clearing the CMOS and reseating your RAM? Those steps can often resolve boot issues like this. Also, did you recently make any hardware changes?

Thanks for the suggestions! I haven't made any hardware changes lately. I did some digging and tried the paper clip test on the PSU—unfortunately, I got nothing from it when I had everything unplugged except the 24-pin connection. I have a spare PSU I can try tonight, but I'm surprised my last RMx 750 lasted over 10 years without issues. This one is only 2-3 years old. Does it seem strange for it to fail like this all of a sudden?
