I recently bought Bloons TD 6 for my girlfriend on Steam and installed it on her laptop. When she tried to log in, the game suggested my account using my nickname as an option. I've never logged into any of my accounts on her laptop, and we don't share devices — the only link is that we use the same Wi-Fi. Can someone explain how this could happen? Is it due to something like local network detection or IP address related? Should I be concerned about any potential security issues?

Did you buy the game on Steam from your PC or her PC? That might change things!
You're probably fine, but I get that this can be unsettling. Just double-check your account security just in case!
Ah yes, The Beast. I knew it was only a matter of time before it found us through Bloons TD 6… Guess I’ll start wearing my tinfoil hat while popping balloons.
Honestly, you might have logged in on her computer at some point and allowed it to remember you. If you've used the "switch user" option instead of signing out, that could be why you're seeing your account.
That's not the case, I'm sure I've never logged into any of my accounts on her laptop - I'm very careful about that.
I sent her the game as a gift from my account, could that matter?
