I woke up today and found that the back fan of my PC is making a lot of noise, as if one of the blades is hitting something. I'm looking for a way to disable just that fan so I can still use my PC until I can get it checked out. Does anyone know how to do that?

If it's only a case fan, then you're good to go! Just make sure to power down your PC entirely and then carefully open the case to unplug the fan. But if it's connected to the CPU or power supply, it's best to leave those alone. It’s odd that it started acting up out of nowhere; fans can sometimes just fail without any obvious signs.
You can disable that fan by locating its cable and unplugging it directly from the motherboard or power supply. Just make sure to turn off your PC and unplug it from the wall first! It's usually not too complicated, especially if it's just a case fan. Take your time and double-check everything before you start.
