I built my current system a few years ago with a Ryzen 5 2600X and a B450M motherboard. I recently upgraded my GPU to a GeForce RTX 3080, but I'm wondering if I should upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5000 series now, or wait for the AM5 platform. I mainly play demanding games like Hell Let Loose, and I'm looking forward to Battlefield 6. What do you think? Should I make the jump now, or hold off?

If you're on a budget, going for a Ryzen 7 5800X at around $170 is a solid move. It’ll give you a great performance boost without needing to buy a new motherboard or RAM. But if you can swing the money for AM5, it's definitely worth considering for the future.
Sounds good! I can't spend too much right now but you're right, getting that 5800X could keep me going for a couple of years.
