My PC keeps showing a script error for a missing file—what’s going on?

I've been having this annoying issue with my Windows 11 PC where a window pops up saying it can't find a script file located at "C:\Users\*****\Documents\task.vbs". This happens randomly, anywhere from zero to four times a day. I'm running a Ryzen 7 7700x CPU, 64GB of RAM, and an RTX 4070 Super GPU. So far, the only thing I've tried is uninstalling some programs I don't use anymore, but that hasn't helped. I'm not sure what to do next. Is there a way to trace back what might be causing this window to appear?

Have you looked into the Task Scheduler? Sometimes, scripts can be set to run automatically, and you might find a scheduled task that's trying to execute that script file.

I checked there too, and there are no tasks set up that point to that location.

First off, you might want to check the specified location for that missing file and see if you can find it there. If you can't see it, make sure you've enabled the option to show hidden files in File Explorer. It might be lingering somewhere you can't easily find it.

I actually checked that, and the file isn't there. I’m not really sure what to do next.
