I recently took apart my GPU for some maintenance, mainly because the old thermal pads had a bad smell. I did remember to put on new thermal paste, but I completely forgot to reapply the thermal pads before reassembling it. Is it still safe to use my GPU for gaming until the new pads arrive?

No offense, but if you’re asking if it’s safe without the pads, maybe disassembling your GPU wasn’t the best idea. Those pads are important!
You definitely need thermal pads! Without them, the components could overheat and you’d risk serious damage to your GPU.
Honestly, I wouldn't risk it. Without those pads, the heat won’t dissipate properly, and your GPU could fry.
It's true, the pads are there for a reason. Just using it for basic stuff might be okay, but gaming could overheat it quickly.
Nope, your GPU isn’t safe without the pads. They help prevent overheating of the VRAM and other components. You should really wait until they arrive before playing games.
Totally agree. It's not just about thermal paste; the pads are crucial for keeping things cool.
