Can I Transfer Data from a Dead iPhone to My New iPhone 14 Pro?

I accidentally messed up my iPhone 12 Pro, and it won't turn on anymore. Since it's getting older, I've ordered a new iPhone 14 Pro that's arriving tomorrow. My question is, can I recover all my data, including settings, backgrounds, passwords, and notes, from my old phone if I can't turn it on? I know I made a mistake by ignoring the warning about the wet charging port after waiting an hour for it to dry.

If your phone got wet, you could try to dry it out by putting it on a sunny windowsill or using a fan. Some people even suggest putting it in a bag of rice. It might take a few days, but if you can get it to power back on, you can transfer data directly or back it up through a computer.

If you backed up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, you should be able to restore everything when you set up your new device! Just choose the 'Restore from iCloud' option or the appropriate backup option during setup.

You can definitely recover your data if you had an iCloud backup, but keep in mind that iCloud storage can be limited. If it was full, you might have missed some data. For backups on your computer, older Macs use iTunes, while newer ones use Finder to back up your phone. If you’re unsure if you had a backup, don't worry—it's good to check!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely check for a backup, and I might look into fixing the old phone to sell if it doesn’t cost too much.
