I've got a university-issued ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 1 that has officially been transferred to me, but now I'm stuck. It was working fine until today when I tried to log in and was greeted with a message saying, 'The password is incorrect. Try again.' I've already attempted a Startup Repair and reverted the system to a restore point from yesterday, but no luck. My only account was created by the school, and now that I've graduated, I suspect they may have deleted my account. Since the laptop is mine now, the IT department says they can't help me anymore. Is there any way to access my files and apps?

Since your laptop is managed by Intune, it’s still connected to the university's domain. This could explain why your account seems to be locked out. The ownership transfer might not have been properly finalized on their end, which left you without access. You could try contacting the IT department one last time to clarify this issue, although I know they said they can’t help anymore.
Got it. So even if I manage to get it off their domain, I’d still be stuck with the password issue. That makes sense!
