I've got a custom-built PC with a GeForce 3060, and it's been a nightmare. It keeps crashing and blue screening almost daily. This driver update issue has been going on for a year now. I've tried clean installs, but the driver gets completely deleted, and I have to do a system restore every time. I did remove two faulty RAM sticks, which has reduced the crashes, but I'm still getting an error code -1073740940. I can't find any solutions online, and I'm really at my wit's end. Any ideas on how to fix this?

You might want to try using Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode. After that, reboot into normal Windows and grab the NVIDIA driver again. Just a heads up, don’t go for the latest version; try an older one instead.
Why not use the latest NVIDIA driver?
It sounds like a real headache! Have you checked if the error code -1073740940 has any specific fixes online? Sometimes, certain combinations of drivers or Windows updates can mess things up. You might want to look at your system event logs too; they might give you a clue about what's going wrong.
Tried it, but it didn't help.
