I came across an old laptop in my basement and I can't remember the password or the BitLocker unlock code. I used to access the command prompt for the admin account through the login screen accessibility options. Is there a way to get this command prompt open now? I'm really looking for any help here!

Just a heads up, you can sometimes find your BitLocker keys saved in your Microsoft account if that's an option. If you're using Windows 11 Pro, check online at the recovery key page. But again, if you didn't set that up, it's a lost cause.
If you didn’t link a Microsoft account to the device, you’ll likely need to reinstall Windows, which will also prompt for a key. Without the recovery key, you're kind of stuck.
Unfortunately, if you don’t have the BitLocker recovery key saved in your Microsoft account, there's not much you can do to retrieve your data. The best option at this point is to reinstall the operating system.
