I bought an HP EliteBook 8530p from a thrift store, and it currently has Linux (Cinnamon) on it. I'm really new to all of this and don't know much about computers. My main goal is to burn some CDs and watch my Garfield DVD, but I can't figure out how to use this system since it starts with a bunch of coding instead of loading like a normal Windows machine. I also don't have any passwords, so I want to wipe everything and set up my own account. Can someone guide me on how to do this?

You should install Windows on it! Grab an 8GB USB drive and use it to flash a Windows ISO. Once that's done, you can install Windows like you normally would. It'll wipe everything for you!
But should it be Windows 10 specifically?
