I recently found an Apple 30W USB-C power adapter while renting a place, and I'm concerned about its safety. Can malware be transferred to my device just by using this adapter? I apologize if this seems like a silly question, but I want to be cautious.

To put it simply, no, using a power adapter won't download malware to your device. However, if you're unsure where the adapter came from, it's best to stay cautious and maybe avoid using it altogether.

It's good that you're asking questions to protect yourself! If you don't know the history of the adapter, you might want to steer clear. Some tech can actually pull data, especially if the adapter is compromised or not genuine.

I found this article earlier this year that discusses whether USB chargers can steal data. It's a good read if you're feeling paranoid over what to trust!
