Hey everyone! I'm in the UK and I'm looking to upgrade my gaming setup. Right now, I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and an 8GB GTX 1080 graphics card, and I feel like my gear is a bit outdated since I've just gotten back into gaming. I want to upgrade without changing my motherboard, which is an MSI X570-A AM4. A friend mentioned that I might be able to use some newer CPUs if I perform a BIOS update. I'm hoping to get the best value for money with my upgrades. I found a Ryzen 7 5700X3D for £210, which seems like a good pick. However, I'm struggling with graphics cards as I want to keep my budget around £450 for both upgrades combined, so I may have to buy a used GPU. Any suggestions on what I should look for? Thanks in advance!

Another option could be the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. It's a great card within your budget, and it should handle most games at 1440p quite well.

I'd go for the Ryzen 5 5700X. Just a heads-up, it doesn't come with a cooler and will need a BIOS update. For GPU, consider the RX 7600 XT or RTX 5060 based on the games you play. If you're gaming at 1440p, those should be solid for you!

Do you mean the Ryzen 7? I'm mainly playing Fortnite and CS2 at 1440p.

For the Ryzen side, definitely grab that 5700X3D at that price! For the GPU, I recommend the Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB. It'd pair beautifully with your setup. Just make sure the other parts of your rig can keep up!

Thanks for the tip! Might have to stretch my budget for the 9060 but selling my 1080 could help.
