How do I fix “Channel Access Denied” errors with virtual media on iDRAC 8?

I'm having a tough time with my server in Thailand. I'm trying to mount netboot.xyz.img through virtual media to install an OS, but I keep hitting a "Channel Access Denied" error. I've got the Attach Mode set to auto-attach and even tried manual attachment. I have Administrator permissions, but nothing seems to work. Resetting the SSL certificate didn't solve it either. Does anyone have tips on how to get past this issue? This is specifically related to iDRAC 8.

It sounds like the remote management controller might just be in a weird state. If possible, try power cycling the whole server to reset the management controller. That can sometimes clear up these communication issues. Just a thought!

I wish I could! But I don’t have physical access to the server. I did update iDRAC, which seems to have messed a few things up too, like some messages showing as variables. Now it won't even let me use virtual media in the HTML5 interface, and Java isn't working for me either.

Classic iDRAC glitch! Have you tried resetting your Java cache or switching to the HTML5 console? Those usually help with issues like yours. 😂 #TechLife

I did try that, but unfortunately, it didn’t make any difference.
