I've got a prebuilt PC and I'm not entirely sure how everything works, but I'm looking to add an additional SSD. My motherboard is the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi. Can it support another SSD? Also, what are the risks of breaking something during the installation? Do I need to remove any components before adding the new SSD?

Absolutely, just get an M.2 NVMe SSD. The chances of breaking something while doing this are pretty low. But it’s always good to be careful during installation.
You should be alright! The MSI MPG X570 can actually support two M.2 SSDs and six SATA SSDs, provided you have enough power connectors from your PSU. So, you should definitely be able to add another one without any issues.
Make sure to check your motherboard manual! It’ll have details about how many storage ports are available and what types they are, which can be really helpful.
