I have a non-modular power supply unit (PSU) and I'm wondering if I need to worry about the cables shorting out. Any advice or insights would be appreciated!

Nah, you shouldn't be worried about that. Non-modular PSUs are designed to manage their cables, so there’s not much risk of shorting as long as everything is connected properly.
Honestly, I don't see how modularity relates to shorting itself. It's more about how you handle the cables. Just don't let unused cable ends touch each other or other components.
That's a good point! I guess I just want to avoid any weird sparks like I had with an old motherboard.
