Is the 5700X3D good enough for 2K gaming until AM6?

I built my PC when the 5000 series was released and started with a 5600. After a year, I sold it for around 100 euros and upgraded to the 5700X3D for about 180 euros. I'm currently running it with 32GB of G.Skill RAM and a 2080 Ti. I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU next year to something like a 5070 Ti, 9700 XT, or another new release. My main question is: will this setup hold up for AAA gaming until the AM6 comes out? Do I need to consider an upgrade to the 5800X3D?

I'm still going strong with an R5-5600 for 1440p gaming, so I figure I can definitely wait for AM6 before considering an upgrade.

Absolutely! I think the 5700X3D paired with a future 5070 Ti will last you a couple of years at least, probably longer. The only thing you might want to watch out for is how next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft stack up in terms of performance down the line.

But how would that even be a problem? The 5700X3D is already a beast compared to the current PS5 and Series X CPUs!

Until AM6 is released, your setup will handle things just fine. But once AM6 arrives, it might struggle a bit with newer titles. Just keep that in mind!

That’s what I figured! Thanks for the input.
