I've been having this issue while using my PC with my wife's Microsoft account. When I download apps like Steam or Discord, they end up showing up on both of our desktops. My wife has a standard user account, while I'm the admin. How can I make sure that when I install an app, it only goes to my account and doesn't affect hers? I'm really hoping someone can guide me through this, as it's been a bit frustrating.

In Windows, when you install a program, you typically get the option to install it for either just your account or for all users on the PC. If it's not prompting you, check the installation settings carefully. Also, it's important to know that standard users usually can't install applications without permission, which might be affecting what you see.
I just reset my PC and didn't see that option. When I checked my wife's desktop files, they looked empty, but all the apps I reinstalled still show up on her account. This is so confusing!
