Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build my first PC and have compiled a list of parts based on my research. I'd love some feedback on my choices! Here's what I'm working with:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor - $449.99
- **CPU Cooler:** Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM - $34.90
- **Motherboard:** MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 - $189.99
- **Memory:** TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 - $89.99
- **Storage:** Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB NVME SSD - $149.99
- **Video Card:** Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB - $479.99
- **Case:** MUSETEX Y6 ATX Mid Tower - $99.99
- **Power Supply:** Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 W - $89.99
**Total:** $1584.83
I plan to use this build primarily for 1440p gaming. I'm aware there are just three fans that come with the case. My thought was to assemble everything first and check the thermals before deciding if I need additional fans. Also, I wanted to keep an all-black aesthetic with minimal RGB lights.
I'd appreciate any advice on the components, especially regarding performance for gaming and potential bottlenecks. Looking forward to your thoughts!

Firstly, it’s great to see you diving into building your own PC! For 1440p gaming, you might want to reconsider your GPU. The RTX 5060 Ti is decent, but you could potentially run into bottlenecks with that combination, especially with the powerful Ryzen 9800X3D. I’d suggest either getting a more powerful GPU or downgrading the CPU to save some cash for that better graphics card.
Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been considering switching to a better GPU. Any recommendations?
