I recently got my nephew a Nintendo 2DS for his 8th birthday along with Pokémon Sun, and we bought a microSD card with a converter for it. However, I'm having trouble getting the card to go in all the way—it keeps popping out. I'm not very tech-savvy, and I'm worried that the SD card slot might be broken. I noticed that one of the pins looks kind of odd, and I'm not sure if the others got pushed back when I tried inserting the card. Someone mentioned using a toothpick to fix the pins, but I'm nervous to try that in case it makes things worse. Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

From what you described, it sounds like the SD card slot might need some inspection. That pin looking weird could definitely be a problem. If it’s bent or out of place, it can prevent the card from making a proper connection. If you’re comfortable, you can try gently using a toothpick to straighten that pin out, but be super careful not to damage anything further. Alternatively, if it looks really damaged, you might need to look into getting the slot replaced, which can be a bit tricky but sometimes necessary. Good luck!
Just make sure to check if the SD card is the right size for the slot too. Sometimes they don’t fit properly if they’re not fully compatible.
I feel for you! SD card issues can be a hassle. It’s great that you noticed the problem early, but if that pin looks bent or damaged, it might be the main issue. Also, check to make sure you’re inserting the card the right way—it can easily go in upside down. If you're still having trouble, you may have to consider getting a replacement console if it's too mangled to fix. Hang in there!
Totally agree—checking the insertion direction is key! But if that slot is busted, better to get it fixed to save future headaches.
Definitely investigate that pin further; maybe a quick trip to a repair shop could save you from more trouble down the line!
Yeah, if you're uncomfortable fixing it yourself, I’d suggest taking it to a pro. Better safe than sorry, especially if it’s still under warranty!
