A couple of days ago, I've noticed that my HDD has been spinning up and down erratically. Today, it's gotten worse, and I can no longer mount it at all. My PC was under normal load when this first started happening (just web browsing and using the terminal). Now, Linux Mint gets stuck on boot with ATA errors, as shown in the images I posted. I'm really worried about my data. It's mostly just games, but I'd at least like to browse what's on the drive. Could this issue be power-related? Here are my specs for reference:
- Only one HDD slot in my case, the failing HDD is glued down with thick silicone tape to reduce vibrations.
- Using the latest version of Linux Mint.
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- GPU: RX 6700 XT
- Problematic HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (ST2000DM008)
- PSU: Cooler Master MWE 700 230V
