Upgrading my PC: Need Advice on Graphics and CPU Compatibility

I'm new to PC building and am looking for some advice on upgrading my setup. Currently, I have a GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GPU, a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 32 GB of RAM, an X570 Aorus Ultra motherboard, and a 750-watt power supply. I want to play semi-modern games (not necessarily the latest ones, just from this decade) at 2K resolution with medium to high settings, achieving around 90-120 FPS. I'm considering getting a 9070 XT, which is available at a decent price, but I'm unsure if my current CPU is suitable or if I need an upgrade. Also, can my motherboard support the 9070 XT given that it uses PCIe 5.0, while mine has PCIe 4.0? Any insights would be appreciated!

Definitely go for the 9070 XT and consider upgrading to the 5700X3D. Make sure you have a good cooler if you don’t already, and check that your 750-watt power supply can handle it. Also, confirm your RAM is at least 3200MHz CL16, and remember to enable XMP for better performance!

Thanks for the tips! The 5700X3D sounds like a solid choice. Do you think the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is overkill? I play a lot of MMOs that can be CPU-intensive, and since I don’t upgrade often, I might want to invest more if it makes sense.

If you're into CPU-heavy games, the 7800X3D could be worth it! It’s powerful and future-proof, but it really depends on your budget. Your current motherboard should be fine for the 9070 XT since PCIe 5.0 isn’t necessary for it to work.
