Why isn’t my M.2 SSD showing up on my new motherboard?

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a new TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI motherboard, but I'm having trouble with my M.2 SSD (Teamgroup M.2 TM8FP6001T) not being detected. It was working perfectly fine in my old setup, but now it's not even showing up in the BIOS. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Have you tried checking for the NVMe drivers? Sometimes that can cause issues. You might want to download the appropriate drivers—here's the link from the manufacturer: https://support.teamgroupinc.com/en/support/download.php?index_m1_id=1&index_m2_id=131. Also, check the ASUS FAQ for more help: https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1048815/

Thanks! I'll give those a shot when I get back home.

It might also help to test a different drive in that M.2 slot to see if it works. Alternatively, try your M.2 drive in a different slot if possible. This way, you can figure out whether the problem is with the drive or the motherboard slot itself.

First off, is your M.2 SSD brand new or was it previously used? If it's used, was there an OS installed on it? Sometimes drives can have issues if not properly formatted when moving to a new board.

It was used but only had games on it, Windows is on another drive.
