Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind here. I've had my Microsoft account for ages, mainly for gaming on Xbox. A while back, I set up the Microsoft Authenticator app for login, but now I can't access it because I don't have the phone anymore, and the phone number linked to the account is inactive. I've tried recovering my account with old information, but nothing seems to work. I'm still logged into my account on Xbox, but I want to access it on my phone to save clips and reply to messages. Is there a way to get back into my account? By the way, my Microsoft email is the same as my current email, and all my details are up to date. If you need more info, just let me know!

It sounds like a tough situation! For account recovery, support isn't going to be able to send you password reset links or access your account details due to security protocols. They're really strict about that. The best route is to fill out the recovery form with as much accurate info as you can. If you're not able to verify your account ownership accurately, they might not be able to help.
If the recovery methods aren't working, and you can't access or reset anything, you might need to think about starting a new account unfortunately. It's rough that you're still logged in on your Xbox, but sometimes that's the only option left.
If you can reactivate the phone number linked to your account, that could be your best shot at getting back in. Check with your service provider to see if you can get that number back!
Yeah, starting fresh would be a bummer since I've put so much time into this account.
