Should I Upgrade to AM5 or Go for a High-End AM4 CPU?

Hey everyone! I'm using a PC I built back in 2020, currently running a Ryzen 5 3600X with a mediocre motherboard and 32GB of DDR4 RAM, plus a 4070 Ti GPU. I haven't been keeping up with PC hardware recently, but I'm noticing some games starting to lag a bit. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it to upgrade to a high-end AM4 processor like the 5800X3D for about $150, or if I should take the plunge and invest around $500 into upgrading to AM5 with a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. I'm looking for some advice on what's the best route to take!

Honestly, I think the 5800X3D would be a solid upgrade for you, especially since your other specs are pretty good. The 3600X is definitely holding you back with your 4070 Ti. If you're looking for an easier upgrade route, the 5700X3D is great too, though it might require a BIOS update. If you go this way, you can probably skip AM5 altogether!

Did you ever consider the 5800X3D over the 5700X3D? What made you choose the latter?
