Hey everyone! I'm working on a new gaming PC build mainly for strategy and indie games at 1440p. I need your advice on a few things. Firstly, I noticed the Samsung EVO Plus drives are a lot cheaper than the Pro version. Is there much of a performance difference between them? Also, I'm considering a 750W power supply but my estimated needs are only about 361W. Is that too much power? Here are the components I'm looking at:
- AMD Ryzen 5 9600X 3.9 GHz 6-Core Processor
- Thermalright Grand Vision ARGB 69 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
- Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE ATX AM5 Motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
- Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 5.0 X2 NVME Solid State Drive
- Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 5.0 X2 NVME Solid State Drive
- PowerColor Hellhound OC Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB Video Card
- Montech KING 95 PRO ATX Mid Tower
- MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Thanks for your input!

Your choice of the 990 EVO Plus is totally fine for your needs. Just make sure you actually need two separate drives if you keep them both.
I’d suggest reconsidering your storage setup. Instead of a pair of drives, you might find that a single 4TB drive gives you better capacity for the same price. Plus, you won’t have to worry about managing multiple drives.
That’s a solid point!
