My Xbox One S crashed on me during a marathon gaming session playing COD: Cold War, and I'm ready to switch to PC for good. I'm looking for advice on building my first PC, with a budget of $1,500 (not including any peripherals). I want it to be powerful enough to run COD: Cold War in 1440p or higher and have the capability to stream, ideally allowing me to tackle intense video editing and music production too. I'm also wondering if it'll be able to handle future games like GTA 6.
I need a durable case since I travel a lot, preferably mid-sized for good airflow, and while flashy lights would be nice, they're not a priority. When it comes to the processor, do I need multiple cores for handling multiple applications? Should I go for AMD's Ryzen or Intel's i9? I'm concerned if all this is possible within my budget. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think your expectations might be a bit high for your budget. Setting up a robust PC that can travel well isn't cheap. You might also consider sticking with a console for gaming and investing in a good laptop for editing since both can be a bit of a stretch on $1,500.
Yeah, I totally understand moving away from consoles if you want more versatility!
If you're near a Microcenter, that's a fantastic place to get components! They often have good deals on DIY bundles. Just make sure to ask if they have any current discounts or combos that might fit your needs!
I'm considering going to one! Do you think the savings there are significant?
Definitely worth the trip if you can. They often have exclusive deals that can really stretch your budget.
I get that, but I already have a new MacBook Pro for editing. I just want a dedicated gaming and editing setup that can handle more intense tasks.
