I just built my first PC today, and when I booted it up, I noticed that the fans on my MSI 5060 Ti Ventus GPU weren't spinning. It turns out that I don't have any power going to the GPU. I have an MSI 5060 Ti, an ASRock B860 Pro RS WiFi motherboard, and a Corsair RM750x power supply. I can't use the CPU power cable for the GPU since they're not the same, right? So, do I need to buy a 2+6 PCIe to 2+6 PCIe cable, or should I be looking for a 4+4 to 2+6 cable instead?

If you're not using all the ports and cables from your PSU, it should have come with the right cable. The MSI 5060 Ti typically needs a single PCIe 6+2 cable, but some models might have the 12VHPWR connector. Check your PSU for the right option. Also, just a heads up, those ports on your modular PSU are proprietary, so make sure to use the cables that came with it!
Remember, the CPU and GPU plugs look similar but are different. Your PSU should have cables specifically labeled for PCIe or GPU in a 6+2 format. Use those!
My PSU is over 8 years old, and I’m not sure where all the cables went. What should I look for when shopping for replacements?
Your 5060 Ti requires a single 8-pin PCIe cable. The lack of fan spin is normal; they often don't start up until the card gets some heat. Don't stress, everything might be fine!
What does proprietary cables mean? Should it be 2+6 PCIe on one end and proprietary on the other? I saw a 2+6 PCIe to 6-pin PCIe at a local store. My PSU is at least 6 years old, so I might need to buy a cable.
