Help! My Computer’s Stuck on a Pink Kernel Panic Screen

I'm really lost after a little mishap on my computer. My friend was showing me some things, and when he pressed Ctrl+Alt+F5, my screen turned pink, displaying a kernel panic. The computer was working fine before this happened, and physically it's all okay. I can access recovery mode and safe mode, but I'm clueless on what to do next. I've looked up some videos, but they all make too many assumptions about my level of tech knowledge. I can't afford a repair shop right now, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried the classic fix—turning it off and back on? Sometimes that simple step can make a huge difference! If the problem persists, posting pictures of the error messages can help others understand what's going on.

Just so you know, I'm okay with losing everything on the computer if I have to. Most of my important files were saved to email or uploaded elsewhere, so if it comes to that, I'm fine with it.

I think your data is still intact, but it’s tough to say for sure without further inspection. If needed, don’t worry too much; you mentioned you can lose the data since you have everything important backed up.

Is your system running Ubuntu? If you can get into the command line in recovery mode, there might be some troubleshooting steps we can explore. Just make sure you're in the right recovery mode by holding the escape key while powering on.
