Why won’t this CD play on my computer?

I recently purchased a cheap DVD player to play CDs and DVDs, and it's been working well for my other albums. However, there's one CD that my computer can recognize, but it takes a really long time to load and ends up glitching if it starts to play. I've tried two different computers, and while they both handle my other albums just fine, this particular one is giving me trouble. The CD is in great condition, authentic, and I've even cleaned it, but nothing seems to help. Is there something wrong with the CD itself or could it be an issue with the player?

It sounds like there might be some delamination or hidden scratches on the CD that you can't see. Even if it looks fine, sometimes those issues can cause playback problems. It's strange that another CD with obvious disc rot played without issues, though. Maybe this CD just has some less visible damage.

Yeah, it’s really odd. I thought about that too, especially since it's my favorite album and the other one barely had any issues.
