Looking to Build My Own Project Management Software – Need Guidance!

Hey folks! I'm running a home repair company that specializes in a niche market and I've tried various project management tools over the years, but none have quite fit my needs. With a background in SQL databases from my previous work in finance, I feel comfortable handling the backend, possibly using MS Access.

However, I really need help creating a front-end customer service portal and companion app. The essentials include a customer intake form, a portal for communication between our office and our service techs, job scheduling, payment collection, and integration with Home Depot for tracking spending or uploading receipts from other vendors. I'm feeling a bit lost in how to approach this, so any advice would be hugely appreciated!

It sounds like you might want to dive into full-stack web development. There are tons of online courses, both free and paid, that can help you learn this. Also, I suggest looking for an open-source project management solution to start with—you can modify it according to your needs instead of building everything from scratch!

That's a great idea! Can you suggest any specific platforms or courses that are beginner-friendly?
