Why Won’t My French SIM Work in My US-Bought Samsung Z Fold 4?

I recently bought a Samsung Z Fold 4 (model SM-F936U1) in America, but I'm having trouble getting my French SIM from the operator FREE to work with it. I've already attempted to install a new XAA firmware, but that hasn't helped either. Since my phone is a special American unlocked version, I can't change the CSC to a French one that would be compatible with my SIM. Is there any solution to get my French SIM working on this phone?

It sounds like your phone might not support the frequencies used by your French carrier. Make sure your Samsung Z Fold 4 supports the 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies, as those are commonly used in France. You can check this by going to **Settings**, then **System**, **About Phone**, and **Status**. If it shows an IMEI number there, that's a good sign. By the way, have you tried restarting your phone with the French SIM card inserted? Sometimes that's all it takes!

Yes, I've checked and it does show an IMEI number, plus I restarted the phone. I read that the U1 at the end means it may not work with French SIMs and that it doesn't support any CSC for French SIMs. Is that accurate?
