Best Paid Tools for Comparing Folders with Subfolders

I'm on the hunt for a reliable paid tool that can compare two folders, including their subfolders, and display the differences in a clear and user-friendly format. I've checked out a few options like Beyond Compare and Windiff, as well as using PowerShell scripts and Robocopy, but none of them seem to provide a satisfactory output or come off as suspicious in security scans. I'm looking specifically for something trustworthy that I can use in a professional setting.

Honestly, Beyond Compare is still the best option out there. I’ve used it for years and it does exactly what you need and more!

Just a heads up, OP seems worried about false positives from antivirus software. It's important to discern these from real threats.

Have you looked into ViceVersa? It does exactly what you’re asking for!

What’s wrong with Beyond Compare? It’s pretty popular and should fit your needs.

I checked that software’s link, and it flagged as suspicious on a security scan. My boss would definitely fire me for using something like that!

If the folder structures should be identical, using Git might be something to consider. It can handle these comparisons well.

I’m not sure your request is clear enough. Can you share more about what you need? Are you looking for something that’s easy to read for IT folks, or does it need to make sense for end users too?

I get that! We have incoming files from a client on SharePoint and older files stored in our document management system. The end user needs clarity on whether these files are the same as what we received before. I’ll get them saved locally, but I need to provide something easy for them to understand. Makes more sense now?
