I'm curious about the current state of the DevOps job market. Is it just as tough as finding a job in software engineering these days?

I landed a new role pretty quickly after about five interviews a few months back. From my experience hiring, it's been really tough to find senior ops candidates with the right expertise. There will always be a higher demand in ops because the field is specialized, and while there are fewer roles than software engineering, the need for ops remains steady. Even in a downturn, data centers are still expanding, and having skills in areas like finops or data science can really add to your value.
The DevOps market isn't as oversaturated as software engineering, but companies usually look for senior-level candidates. If you're confident in your skills, you should find plenty of opportunities since there are not as many qualified candidates out there as software engineers.
I'm having a hard time finding good platform engineers right now. There seem to be a lot of open roles out there, but the right candidates are scarce.
