I'm having trouble locating advanced settings for Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) in the BIOS of my A620M Pro RS WiFi motherboard. I recently got a 9800X3D and would like to undervolt it for better temperatures and performance. While researching, I found conflicting information—some say the A620 platform doesn't support PBO while others suggest it does but lacks certain options. I found the PBO setting in the BIOS, but it only provides options to enable, disable, or set it to auto. Unlike a video I watched, which showed more adjustment features, I'm wondering if I'm out of luck and need to change my motherboard or if the settings are just labeled differently and hidden somewhere out of sight? Any guidance would be appreciated!

The AM5 platform is designed for premium builds, and using low-quality components, like an A620 board, can lead to sacrifices. The A620 doesn’t support advanced tuning or PBO, which can be limiting. I'd recommend going for a non-ASRock B650 board with decent RAM for the 9800X3D to avoid potential issues.
Your board likely doesn’t support PBO since it’s a budget option. Also, I'd suggest avoiding ASRock for the 9800X3D due to reliability issues. For a better experience, consider switching to an Asus B650E board—they’re reasonably priced and offer enhanced features.
I’ve seen those failure reports but heard BIOS updates might help. I'm leaning toward getting a new motherboard anyway to maximize my processor's performance, thanks for the heads-up!
Unfortunately, the A620 chipset doesn't support PBO for overclocking, so you're stuck with those basic options. It's kind of a bummer.
Yeah, that’s a real drag. Thanks for clarifying!
Yeah, I read about the issues with ASRock but I'm willing to switch motherboards to unlock better performance. I appreciate the suggestions!
