I'm trying to decide between two WiFi options on my PC: just labeled 'WiFi' and 'WiFi 4'. Can anyone help me figure out which one usually provides better speed? I'm currently using Windows 11, and I want to optimize my connection.

Generally, the difference boils down to the frequency: WiFi 4 typically uses the 2.4GHz band, which is slower but has a wider range. On the other hand, the 'WiFi' you mentioned might be referring to a 5GHz connection, which tends to be faster but has a shorter range. In real-world scenarios, you could get around 100 Mbps on 2.4GHz, while anything above that is better suited for 5GHz or Ethernet.

Just to clarify, WiFi 4 can actually operate on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, unlike WiFi 5 which is limited to 5GHz. Newer standards like WiFi 6 and 7 are also available on both bands.
