Trouble Getting Power from Two Corsair PSUs – What Now?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind with my new PC build. I initially got a Corsair RM750x from Amazon, but it didn't power up my motherboard—no lights or anything. I thought maybe it was a faulty unit, so I ordered a Corsair RM850e, hoping it would arrive fast. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked either; still no power or indicator lights on either motherboard I've tried. I even did the paperclip test and got the fans to spin briefly for a few seconds, but that's it. I've tested various outlets around my house, and they work with other devices, but these PSUs aren't showing any signs of life. What should I try next?

That’s a bummer! It sounds like you might have just hit a bad streak. If both PSUs aren’t working at all, I’d recommend returning the second one as well. There’s a chance both units were defective, which is really unfortunate but not unheard of. You could also try checking all your connections just to be sure everything’s properly plugged in, but yeah, if nothing works, it’s probably best to get another PSU.

So it’s likely that I just got two bad ones? Makes me worried about the third one!
