Why Is My FPS So Low While Gaming?

I have a pretty decent gaming rig and I'm wondering why my FPS is struggling. Even with a solid setup, I'm only getting around 40 FPS no matter what settings I use. It gets even worse when I try to stream on Discord; everything lags, and if I watch YouTube while gaming, it's super sluggish. Here's my setup: I have an Intel Core i9-10900K, a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, and 32GB of RAM. Any suggestions on what might be going wrong?

Firstly, have you checked your temperatures? High temps can cause throttling, which affects performance. Make sure they're sitting below 80°C during gaming. Also, ensure your monitor's refresh rate is correctly set in your settings; it could be a factor if you're not plugged into the GPU.

I’ll keep an eye on the temps! Right now, they're between 43 to 50 degrees.

What’s your monitor’s refresh rate? If it’s 144Hz, make sure it's set up correctly in your settings. Also, check which cable you're using; your monitor should be connected to the GPU, not the motherboard, to leverage the full power of your graphics card. If you're experiencing low FPS in multiple games (except League), let me know which ones those are!

The refresh rate is set to 144Hz, and I’m using the GPU for my monitor connection. I mostly notice it in any game besides League.
