Upgrading My Lenovo ThinkCentre for Gaming: Is It Worth It?

Hey everyone! I have an old Lenovo ThinkCentre M710s that's starting to feel really slow. It's currently running on 8GB of RAM and has an Intel i5-7400 with integrated graphics. I'm thinking about upgrading to either a GTX 1650 or a GTX 1660 Super, and I'm curious if there are any potential bottlenecks with this upgrade. Also, I plan to upgrade the RAM as well. Any advice on whether this is a good idea?

You've got limited options due to the small form factor of your case. The proprietary PSU connector means you can't just swap in a new one for a bigger GPU. The GTX 1650 is one of your few choices since it gets power directly from the motherboard, making it a safe bet. Just double-check that the card is low profile to fit your case!

I was also thinking about getting a new case since I want to start building a PC anyway. Thanks for the tips!

It really depends on what you plan to use it for. ThinkCentres can be decent for specific tasks, but gaming isn't really one of their strong suits.

You might see a bit of improvement in graphics, but honestly, it might not be worth the investment. Your system is pretty outdated, so putting money into it might not get you the best results. Consider saving for a new build instead.
