Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy a new PC, moving from a Mac, and I've been eyeing the RTX 3080 because it's great for gaming, Blender, and video editing. However, I've come across quite a few posts about dead 3080 and 3090 cards, which makes me nervous about their longevity. It seems like the 3080 can outperform even the 4070 and 5060. I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with these cards failing or if they are still reliable. Should I consider going for the 40 or 50 series instead?

I've had my RTX 3080 for 5 years now, and it's still working fine! But honestly, I wouldn't buy it right now. The version I have is 10GB, which might be a bit outdated for today's standards.
Why do you think I shouldn't get it? I see the 3080 is way cheaper than the 4070 and 5060, so I'm curious if there are better options within a similar price range. Is it mainly the 10GB VRAM holding it back?
