Hey everyone, I'm struggling to get my old Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD (model ST2000DM006) recognized by my new PC. I've tried connecting it to all four SATA ports on the motherboard, but it doesn't show up in Windows or BIOS. Just yesterday, the HDD was working fine, so I'm pretty sure the drive itself is okay. I have a working SSD plugged in using the same cables from my new PSU, which seems to be functioning perfectly. The HDD doesn't have an OS, just some pictures and games on it. Here are my specs: Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Asus Prime B-650M-R motherboard, Asus Prime RX 9070XT graphics card, and Lexar NM790 1TB NVMe. Any advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Have you considered using an external SATA to USB converter? It might help get the drive recognized as an external device instead of trying to connect it inside your PC. Give that a shot!

That sounds like a good idea! If I do use it, does the HDD have to be outside the computer completely?
