Where can I find a 5700X3D or 5800X3D in the UK?

Hey folks! I'm looking to upgrade my PC build, and I'm considering replacing my 5600X with either the 5800X3D for a performance boost or the more reasonably priced 5700X3D. However, I've noticed that both seem to be out of stock online or marked as sold out. Has something happened to the availability of these CPUs, or will I still be able to find a good upgrade for my setup? Any advice would be very helpful! Thanks!

I’m in Canada, and after Christmas, it feels like both models just disappeared from the market. I noticed the prices also shot up significantly for what's left. I read that they stopped making the 5700X3D, so the remaining stock is driving prices up. I'm planning to hold onto my 5600X for a bit longer before I switch to AM5.

Haha, don't you mean AM6? In a few more years, AM5 will be the new AM4! But seriously, these advancements happen so fast.

That’s nuts! If the AM4 is already getting old, do you think I’ll need a whole new system soon?

If you're really set on getting one of these chips, check out Cex before they hike the prices even more! It’s a good spot for second-hand tech.

Haha, good advice! I'll check it out, thanks!

Unfortunately, they’re both discontinued, which explains the dwindling stock. Your best bet might be to hunt for a used one, but be prepared for higher prices due to scarcity. You might want to consider upgrading to an AM5 setup instead for better future-proofing.

Thanks for the info! That’s a bummer timing-wise... Do you have any suggestions for AM5 parts? I’ll need to change the mobo and RAM too.

If you’re searching for used options, eBay might have what you need. I got mine there, but prices vary a lot. Just be cautious about sellers, especially from overseas.

I hadn't thought of that! I’m seeing a bunch listed around 250 GBP for the 5700X3D. What was your buying experience like?

Honestly, the time to grab an X3D chip was about a year ago. With new games coming out that utilize more CPU power, you’d probably want to look at upgrading soon for those titles.
