I'm on the hunt for a GPU around the $300 mark to pair with my aging Ryzen 1800X. I've been considering a 3060, but I'm mostly seeing 8GB versions, and I'm hoping to find something with a bit more memory. I'm not as familiar with the lower-end Ryzen GPUs that might work with my setup, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

As someone who chose AMD for the VRAM, I sort of regret it now at 1080p. There are definitely a few games that push past 8GB, but you can usually just dial down the settings. Honestly, the 1800X holds back most 12GB cards because it's quite a bit slower than the 5600. So, my advice would be to stick with 8GB cards like the 6600XT and consider upgrading to a 5600X for better performance. Just double-check your motherboard BIOS, as you’ll likely need an update first.
Have you looked into the RX 6700XT or 6750XT? They could be great choices for your budget and would complement your CPU pretty well.
What about the Arc B580? It’s a newer option you could consider.
Not the best choice! The B580 has quite a bit of CPU overhead. I really recommend upgrading both your CPU and GPU; the 5600 with the 6600XT would fit perfectly. If you shop around, you should be able to find them second-hand for around $300.

Thanks! I'll check that out.
