Will a 5070 give me better 1440p performance than a 3060 at 1080p?

I'm currently using a 3060 12GB with a 5600x processor at 1080p and 144hz. I'm considering an upgrade mainly for better performance, and I might want to move to 1440p. Would the 5070 provide better frame rates at 1440p compared to what I'm getting now at 1080p?

For sure! I was running 1440p with an RX 6600 and it was decent; with a 3060, you can expect even better. The 5070 will definitely give you a much better experience at that resolution compared to your current setup!

Honestly, it really depends on the game. Performance isn't universal across the board, so be sure to check some benchmarks for the specific titles you play!

True, but overall, yes, the 5070 would outperform the 3060 at 1440p!

I actually suggest getting a 1440p monitor first before deciding on the GPU. I recently switched to 2k resolution and noticed my setup worked differently; my CPU was more relaxed while the GPU handled the load. If you don't like the performance with the 3060, you can always upgrade to the 5070 later!

Absolutely! The 5070 is significantly more powerful. For example, in many games, it averages about 110fps at 1440p on ultra settings, while the 3060 only manages around 70fps at 1080p on ultra. So, you’re definitely looking at a performance boost with the 5070 at 1440p!

Yeah, it should do pretty well! In an ideal setup, the 5070 is almost twice as fast as the 3060. Just keep in mind that actual performance can fluctuate based on the specific game and whether your CPU is a limiting factor.

Thanks for the insight! I'll keep that in mind.
