Do I Need to Connect the Secondary CPU Power Plug on My MSI Motherboard?

I have an MSI PRO B760-P WiFi DDR4 ProSeries Motherboard and I've noticed a second CPU power plug next to the one currently powering my PC. While my PC does power on and I can play games without any issues, I'm wondering if this additional plug is necessary or if it's solely for overclocking. A friend mentioned that if I don't connect it, I might overexert my CPU. However, I've read conflicting info suggesting it's only for overclocking, which I'm not doing. If I do need it, which plug should I use? I see it's a 4-pin connector, and my power supply is the Corsair RM 750e. Also, I'm seeing CPU temps around 97°C on Speccy, but I doubt it's that hot since I've heard Speccy can be inaccurate lately.

The second CPU power plug is mainly for supplying extra power when your CPU demands it, like during heavy overclocking. If you're not overclocking, you generally don't need it. In most cases, the regular 8-pin connector should suffice for normal use.

Would connecting the 4-pin help reduce stress on the CPU or lower temps in any way, though?
