I'm currently using a rig with a CPU (5820k), an MSI x99 motherboard, and 32GB of RAM along with a 1000W power supply and an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW for gaming. I really want to play the Oblivion remaster at max settings, but my 1080 is starting to struggle. A friend of mine is offering to sell me his 5080 for $900, but he insists I actually use it instead of flipping it. My question is, will the 5080 work well with my current setup? Could my older CPU and other components create any issues? I'm planning to build a new PC in a month or two, but this deal is too good to pass up now.

Just a heads up: your PSU should be fine as long as it's in good condition. The 1000W EVGA Titanium is a solid choice. Just keep an eye on those temps with the new card! Even if it’s old, it should manage with the right cooling.
Great deal on the 5080! It'll definitely give you a boost in performance for Oblivion, just make sure to keep an upgrade on your CPU in mind for the future to really take advantage of that power!
I had a similar setup before and trust me, that CPU will hold you back even with the 5080. But if you're planning to upgrade soon, I say go for it!
For Oblivion, your current specs are barely meeting requirements for higher settings, so upgrading to the 5080 could help you, but definitely consider that CPU upgrade on your horizon! You might also want to look into getting a newer GPU like the 9070, which might be more affordable.
The 5080 will definitely fit and run in your rig, but honestly, your CPU will bottleneck the performance significantly. That's something to keep in mind. If you can get the GPU, do it, but I would recommend upgrading your CPU soon after.
Totally agree with that. You’ll still benefit from the upgrade, but just be prepared to handle that CPU in the future.
Yeah, my PSU was old too, but if it's from a good brand like EVGA, then it should hold up okay.
