Hey folks! I just finished building my new PC, and I'm having some trouble getting it to boot. Here are the specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600x
- Motherboard: MSI Pro B650-A
- RAM: Viper Venom DDR5 32GB
- GPU: Radeon RX 7700 XT
- PSU: Gamemax 750W
When I try to turn it on, my monitor doesn't connect. However, I notice a yellow and a red light on the motherboard each time I power it up. I've tried a few troubleshooting steps but haven't had any success. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you're dealing with a RAM and CPU situation! The red light usually indicates a CPU issue, while the yellow light points to RAM problems. First, just to clarify, do you have two or four RAM sticks installed? If it’s two, make sure they’re in the right slots. Typically, they should be in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 for dual channel. Also, double-check that the CPU is seated properly. If you've inspected those, it might help to look at your motherboard’s firmware—it could need an update to properly recognize your CPU.
It's great that you tested the GPU in another setup! That helps rule it out. If both lights keep showing up, it could mean the motherboard is having trouble communicating with the CPU. Try reseating the CPU again and ensure there’s no debris or bent pins on the socket. If everything looks good, you might want to check if your PSU is delivering enough power, especially to the CPU.
I’ve looked at the pins and they seem fine! I’ll check the PSU connections again.

I did place the RAM sticks in slots 2 and 4 but tried all slots without luck. Still getting that yellow light.
